Top 3 & Top 6	Comprising of (1) performance of top 3 clubs in England, (2) clubs finishing in the top 3 with poor home records, (2) top 6 positions in England since 1888, and (2) number of times each club has finished in each position in the top 6 since 1888.
Consecutive Seasons	Listing of consecutive seasons spent by clubs in each division in England
Top Flight Aggregate & 40-Game Average	Comprising: (1) Aggregate league performance in the top flight (Division 1 of the Football League from 1888 to 1992 and the Premier League since 1992) computed from (a) 1888 and (b) 1946 for each club that has played in the top flight; and (2) Average league performance for each club that has played in the top flight computed over 40 games.
Second Tier	Top 3 in Division 2 (1892 to 1992) and Division 1 (1992 to date) of the Football League for each season since 1892
Post-promotion performance	Performance in the first tier of clubs in the first three seasons following promotion of clubs promoted from the second tier in the post-war period.
